About Me and Why I did this page...
My name is Lori and I'm a mommy of two beautiful little
munchkins..Sami (age 5 years) and Devon (18 months)....
and a bit of a Gymboree-holic.
After my first daughter was born in 2004, I discoverd that I loved dressing her in cute, trendy clothes from Gymboree, Baby Gap, Hanna Anderson, Children's Place and so on. However, even with two full-time incomes (I also work full-time), we weren't able to afford the all the clothes I wanted/needed to buy at retail prices...nor did want to pay that price anyway since they grow so quickly!
When Sami was about 2 weeks old, I discoverd a children's resale store about a mile from my house and I was hooked!
Now with two little girls, I purchase almost all their clothing at the area's resale stores or with discount coupons for sale items at retail stores (i.e. Gymboree's 30% discount for friends).
I enjoy the "challenge" of the "hunt" so much that I've been known to hit eight to ten different stores in the course of one day, traveling from Hillsboro to Vancouver and downtown Portland. I'm always on the look for a bargain and have figured out when certain stores have sales or markdowns.
I am always looking for a new stores in my hunt for bargain childrens clothing. I've discovered stores mainly by word-of-mouth or just happen upon one when driving by. There are some listed on the internet...some with websites and some without...but the majority are not there and thus are harder to find. In addition, as I've discovered lately, several listed on the web are no longer in business and other newer stores are not yet listed.
Hence, the idea was born one late night during my second maternity leave...have a website dedicated to children's consignment/resale stores for the Portland metro area. This way, you have one place to look for different shops!
